Kingston Urban Reserves and Pathways 1 Mar 2022

Today's walk will be another new one for the group although most of us will have walked over some of the ground.

Ron is taking us around the suburbs of Blackman's Bay, Kingston Beach and Kingston with a minimum of street walking.

We leave our transport in Huntingfield and head for the tunnel under Algona Road.

Tunnel number one.

Following alongside Algona Road.

Through our first urban reserve.

Heading for tunnel number two under Redwood Road.

Morning tea spot includes lots of seating and a view over Blackmans Bay but most importantly it was earlier than our normal stopping time.

A variety of different colored Eucalypt blossoms hanging over a fence as we enter Boronia Hill Reserve.

A view across the Derwent to South Arm and Opossum Bay.

Chris making sure that there are some snaps of the walkers faces as well as.....

Another view of Blackmans Bay from Boronia Hill Reserve.

Kingston Beach.

A local large fungi.

Heading down one of the many pathways between the houses to our lunch spot by Browns River.

Leaving the lunch spot on our return journey.

Unfortunately Mt Wellington has not had it's best day today being engulfed in cloud.

Still smiling midway through the climb from Browns River.

Back in the bush where someone was heard saying "this is a proper bushwalk".

I wonder if these sitting at the back of the Australian Antarctic Division's site could be mobilised for flood relief on the mainland.

And a river crossing what more could we asked for.

Some of us were wondering how Ron managed to find so many gaps in fences that we coul pass through.

And there were more Army Ducks just lying about..

And tunnel number three but only because we were returning tunnel number one.

This was a pleasant and interesting walk in our immediate environment and somewhat different to what most of us do normally.

Apparently most of the walk has been a part of Ron's fitness running places for a long time.

We had 12 walkers who covered  11.7 km and climbed 148 meters over 4 hours.
