Howrah- Waverley Flora Park Circuit - 11 Nov 2025

 We are walking part of the Darwin Walk from Howrah Beach to the top of Waverley Flora Park.

The weather forecast is for possible showers but should have some sunny spots.

Leaving our parking spot at the end of Wentworth St heading to the foreshore trail around to Howrah Beach.

After leaving the beach and walking through the park we saw this Bandicoot digging around the lawns behind the sand dunes of Howrah Beach.

Morning tea in Tilanby Park a peaceful spot set between the houses with seating for the group.

Our leader today decided that we would not walk the streets but instead follow the South Arm Highway up to the base of Waverely Park.

 

Growing alongside the Highway and just inside the park these Chocolate Lilies were in abundance.

 

As were the Stackhousia Candles. 

And a lot of Tiger Orchids (Diuris sulpherea) across Waverley Flora Park.

We had 17 walkers who covered  just over 9 kms and climbed and descended 200 meters in 4 hours.

An enjoyable walk with little rain but a fair bit of wind.

On returning to Kingston we drove through a hail storm as we crossed the Tasman Bridge.
