Crescent Bay - 18 Nov 2025

The walk today is a round trip into Crescent Bay and return.

The weather forecast is for reasonably strong winds and possible rain in the afternoon.

Heading onto the walk from the Remarkable Cave's carpark.

Cape Raoul in the distance.

There is a large swell running into the Cave.

Making waterfalls when the swell retreats from the rocky shore.

Heading along the track.

The view back towards the entrance to Remarkable Cave.

The bridge crossing the Maingon Blowhole.

Looking into the sea surge at the bottom of the Maingon Blowhole.

A closer look at Cape Raoul.

Showy Honey Myrtle.

Common Fringe Myrtle.

Looking towards Mount Brown.

Enjoying the walkway.

More  common Fringe Myrtle.

Heading down towards Crescent Bay after morning tea at the Look-out.

Michael climbed Mount Brown and found this interesting rock formation.

And an Echidna on the summit.

Looking down on Crescent Bay from the summit.

The summit view of Tasman Island.

And the view from Crescent Bay beach.

Mum and Dad Pied Oyster Catchers with two young scavenging on the sand dunes.

Heading along the beach.

One of the more adventurous walkers having a dip.

While the rest of us relaxed on the rock seating having a leisurely lunch.

Close-up of the rock formation on the beach.

Ominous looking clouds  starting to arrive.

And they were still there when we returned.

A Eucalyptus growing just behind the dunes of the beach.

Heading back along the track to the cars.

The coastal vegetation was quite spectacular alongside the track.

Scented Paperbark.

Telephoto shot of the group who seem to speed up on the return journey.

White Flag Iris.

Button Everlasting.

 Twining Fringe Lily.

We had a group of 15 who covered 9kms in 3.25 hours and the weather held out for the day.

An enjoyable shorter walk.

Thanks to Michael and Mendelt for their photo contributions.
