Today we're walking from Summerleas Road up and around Leslie Vale, parking in a small quarry at the end of the bitumen.
We set off back down the road, turning into Old Summerleas Road.
Turning right at the end, we head to the start of the Picket Hill track to start climbing.

It looks bushy, but there are houses close by with more to come. A new plot is being fenced and new builds are seen in the distance.
We reach a 'Y' junction and head up, taking a track that parallels Hackford Drive, heading for Cades Drive.
Walking beside Cades Drive, we reach the start of a track that gets everyone's hopes up as it goes downhill.
It doesn't last for long though, as we turn left for a nice little hill climb past an old sawmill site.

Reaching the top, we settle down for Morning Tea with a beautiful view over Kingston and surrounds.

Tea finished, we move on with more scenes to admire.

Wide track and easy walking as we head for Leslie Vale. Reaching Leslie Road, we turn left then right to take a bridle trail heading south and parallel with the Huon Highway.

Leslie Vale is horse country. I think you have to show you have a horse before you're allowed to buy a property here.

After a while we turn away from the highway to McKenzies Road, with a short zig zag onto another horse path. This takes us past some more horses, some more interested in us than others.

One of this group stuck his hairy nose over the fence, but all I could provide was a scratch.
We walk around paddocks, heading to Bullock Drive.

We reach Bullock Drive and head out to Leslie Road. Here we turn right towards the cricket ground for lunch.

Down near the old pavilion is a convenient pile of rocks for lunch.

Lunch finished, we head off. Unfortunately, my GPS lives in a pouch on my waist belt and I set the pack down on it, which pressed the power button turning it off.
I didn't check it for a while, so some of the track is missing. I managed to piece information together to ensure the information in the Report at the end is correct.

It was sometime before I noticed the GPS was off and restarted it.
We're heading down to cross the Levert Rivulet and pickup Cripps Road, heading back to the cars.

It's a pleasant walk back to the quarry car park which we find packed with trucks and a digger from the local council. They've been filling in potholes in the dirt road I suppose.
We had 19 walkers and covered 11.81km in 4:15hrs. Thanks to Bob for supplying a great walk in perfect weather.
