Today Bob's taking us on a walk starting and ending at the Kingston Sports Centre in Kingston View Drive. I haven't been on a walk for a while but Bob promises to include both a loop and a 'wee' hill, so nothing has changed in my absence.
We make our way to the car park across the road from the Sports Centre and set off. The weather is good for a walk.

I think it's through here we meet our first audience |
This passes under the Huon Highway and was originally for the convenience of a dairy herd. Those days are long gone, however.
|
Not all that happy to see us. Perhaps we should have been bearing gifts | | |
On we go, heading for the 'wee' hill Bob has promised. I do remember it from another time , but not fondly.
|
Looks easy now, but we soon begin to climb

There are some views to compensate

Time to bring the dogs in and get the herd back together

That's better
|
We reach the end of Cades Drive and start down on another walking track. It's fairly steep and slippery in places with lots of loose stones. We'll follow it down to an unnamed fire trail to have our Morning Tea on comfortable logs over Fawcett Rivulet.

Going down!
|
On the way down, Peter H. shared some stories of growing up in this area and horse back riding down to Kingston Beach. Wouldn't happen today. All this brought us to a well earned Morning Tea.

The road to inner comfort

Those who walked up this road during our break will know what I mean.
Break finished, we walk along the road for a short distance before heading left down another bush track.

A glimpse of the past

|
Bob is contractually obliged to include places like this so we can keep calling ourselves bushwalkers
|
This brings us up to Cripps Road which we follow to the junction of Summerleas and Old Summerleas Road.

We're heading back now and Old Summerleas Road will cross Hackford Drive, leading us to Summerleas Road.
We follow Summerleas Road until it joins Leslie Road. A short climb takes us up to Roba Court where we turn left. At the top we take a track that will lead us back under the Huon Highway and back to the cars.
