Pelverata Falls - 16th May 2023

Today's weather was again expected to be dodgy with showers, hail and snow down to the 700 metre level forecast. Fortunately the walk will be mostly in a valley which offers some protection.

Thanks to Chris who volunteered to be the photographer today. Mendelt also provided some photos.

There was lots of variety in the early part of the track.

Not long into the walk we get distracted by masses of black cockatoos perching in the trees.

Soon after we reach a well signed junction in the track.

Morning Tea

Joy is using her special cup!  What are Mendelt and Michael discussing?

Continuing along we come across examples of a  new approach to cairns

Is Sally considering trying to mimic the tree by also doing the twist?

As we approach the falls the track becomes more undulating and gets narrower.

Slippery Falls in the distance

Pelverata Falls .. there is more water than when we last came here

We decided to have lunch .. this prompted the rain to start

With our wet weather gear on we start our trip back along the steeper parts of the track.

Almost Back

Today 14 walkers covered 6.5 kms in 3hrs 15min.
