The weather forecast was a bit dodgy so we weren't sure what to expect today - last night a change went through southern Tasmania with rain and a severe wind weather warning (Scotts Peak, 55km west of Judbury recorded winds of over 130kph and Mt Wellington, 25kms east of Judbury had winds of over 120kph).
9 hardy walkers turned up for the walk and for the first time in ages there were more males than females - yippee!
We begin by crossing the Creek and then go along Judd's Creek Road
Where's our leader - ah there he is at the back going the wrong way (must be a new leadership style)
There were constant reminders of the severe weather that occurs in this area as we saw numerous instances of water erosion all along the road. Here Michael stands in one of the washouts on the bridge
Wayne standing beside some tyre tracks which have now become badly eroded
Ingrid photographing this old stump
After walking on the road for 4.5kms we reach the turn off to Billy Brown Falls.
Chris signs the group into the log book
The track becomes a lot narrower and wetter as we make our way towards the highest point of today's walk
An interesting pile of rocks covered with a lush coat of moss
Although a bit dark in the next photo we pass another giant tree - if you look closely you can see the spot of blue to the left of the tree (gaiters worn by Lyn) and a series of dots (reflection off Wayne's backpack) .. this gives you some scale as to the size of the enormous tree
We now commence the descent to the falls - from here the track becomes narrower and rockier as it skirts the edge of a steep hillside, becoming even steeper as it descends to the base of the falls (we loose 150 mtrs elevation)
Looking south along the valley (Clarkes Creek)
We reach the falls .. with all the recent rain they are quite a spectacle .. well worth the walk

Lunch
On the drive to Judbury the 3 people in the back seat of Chris's car referred to themselves as the 'Three Wise Monkeys'. During the walk this was referred to as Chris feeding the monkeys!
This innocuous looking puddle is actually a sink hole .. during our last trip Angela stepped into it and sunk up to her knee.
Chris measured with the stick and when removed it was equivalent to his mid thigh
Spotted this graffiti near the end of the walk .. can any one decipher it?
Today 9 hardy walkers covered 10.75 kms in just under 4.75hrs and were fortunate to see the falls with a good flow of water.
