Seven Mile Beach to Roches Beach - 30 Apr 2024

Todays' walk takes in the coastal trail from Seven Mile Beach to Roches Beach and then winds around parts of Roches Beach following the Tandara Trail back to the beach before returning to the cars.

The forecast is for windy with possible showers.

Heading down to the beach from the carpark.

looking back toward Seven Mile Beach with rain clouds threatening.

One of the small beaches that the trail passes.

Discussing whether this would be an appropriate morning tea stop.

 More threatening clouds.

Passing this Georgian style house complete with ballistrading, ivy and a rotary clothes line front and center.

The climb away from the beach track into the houses.

Mendelt drawing a mud map for another walk that was being planned??

More threatening clouds.

Michael talking to one of the locals.

The clouds was a bit more than threatening.

Rain gear was required.

Looking for a lunch spot.

Quite a pleasant spot by the creek although there was quite a bit of algae accumulating around the creek.

Heading back along the beach for the return journey.

An old military bunker set above the sand.

A local flock of cormorants enjoying a brief spot of sunshine.

Still threatening clouds.

This wallaby was more interested in us walking by than the rest of his mates who throughout the walk  just ran from us.

We had 22 walkers who cover the 10km walk in 3 hours.

A pleasant walk even though the south westerly breeze and odd rain shower kept the temperature down.

Thanks to Michael, Ingrid and Ron for their additional photos.
