Our walk today combines the Pelham Nature Reserve and Dickinsons Nature Reserve which are just of Pelham Road past Elderslie.
The weather forecast is for a cold south westerly change around about the middle of the day other than that cool and dry.
Ingrid is describing the walk to the group.
We follow a trail that goes through open forest that appears to have been selectively logged at sometime in the past.
An open space with log seating is located for morning tea.
While walking along the edge of a pine logging coup we note a rainbow following along the track.
Heading up to a cave under the boulders at the top of the hill.
The explorers in the group climb to the top of the cave.
While the rest of the group start descending back to the main track.
Heading back towards the cars.
When passing one of the pine plantations we were entertained by a large flock of noisy Black Cockatoos.
We had a group 19 walkers today who covered approx 12 kms climbing and descending 250 meters over 4 hours.
An interesting walk in a little known reserve.
The map above is one way only.
