Today Peter is taking us on a walk we've not done for about 3 years. We make our way to Seven Mile beach, parking next to the beach at the end of Seven Mile Beach Rd.
It's an overcast day, but no rain and a good temperature for walking as we set off.

At the end of the beach, these steps lead up to the track we'll be following.
If you go this way, look out for middle age men on mountain bikes, we nearly were taken out by one.
I have nothing against bike riders, I have a bike myself. However some advice. Be aware of your surroundings and keep an eye out ahead of you when on a track.
Also, if coming up behind a group or even a single walker USE YOUR BL_ _DY BELL!! Thank you.
With that out of the way, on we go along following the track above the coast line.

Myself, the only one in shorts, although I suspect if Bob had been here, he would be wearing them also. Photo by Chris

The track provides a variety of surroundings, from open to trees.

Single Hill is to our right

Private little beach just a short climb down
Speaking of going down, it's about time for Morning Tea and the timing is just right as we reach steps leading to the beach.
Heading down
Plenty of rocks to provide seating for all of us
I think that's Carlton across Frederick Henry Bay
After everyone had their food checked out by the free ranging Labrador belonging to a walker, we make our way back up to the track and continue on.
Just past this place, we turn inland onto a reserve track.
Up here along the lower slopes of Single Hill
Roches Beach
There are many tracks around here and we also do some road walking where necessary.
Peter's taking us on a loop that Bob would be proud of, gradually making our way down to the beach for lunch.
Along the way we chat to a lady on a horse...
...and see interesting signs
We have Bandicoots living in our garden, mostly stripped and once the brown. If they think their getting their own sign, they are sadly mistaken.
This is for Bob, knowing his love of dogs
Mt. Forestier?
We come to the beach below the Lauderdale Yacht Club for lunch.
Lunch |
After lunch, we walk along the beach for a while before making our way back up to the original track that will lead us back to the cars.
Along the way, Ron has a look at what appears to be an old wartime bunker. I've had a look for any history, but haven't been able to find any online. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.

On we go along the beach.

They seem to have gotten ahead of us

Looking back
We had 13 walkers on a very pleasant walk even if it was overcast.
We covered 10.9km in 3:35hrs.
If you want a GPX track, there are several available to download on previous walks. I won't put one here just to save storage space.
