Todays walk is an out and back return to Cape Queen Elizabeth on Bruny Island.
There was a bit of excitement in the group as most were to travel on the new Bruny Island Ferries for the first time.
We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the terminal expecting to have to wait but we were loaded on board efficiently with most having a quick explore of the new ferry.
The open passenger deck
The enclosed passenger deck.
Looking down the Channel.
The second Ferry.
The group getting ready to leave the carpark which already had a few cars. It appears to be a popular walk but we noted later that a number of the walkers just went as far as the beach.
The Big Lagoon with Mt Mangana in the distance.
Walking the track returning to the cars.
The weather for the day started out overcast but by the time we commenced to walk most of the cloud had dispersed and we had a relatively sunny day although the wind was sometimes a bit cool.
There were 17 walkers on today's trip which is one of the largest groups for this term. We walked 12.5 kms in 4 hrs 30 mins.
