Umbrella Point - 6 Jun 2023

For today's walk we left our cars in Kettering and walked onto the Bruny Island Ferry getting off at Roberts Point.

The weather forecast was for possible showers in the morning.

Everyone settled into the comfort of the passenger area.

As soon as we were of the boat the rain started and everyone got prepared.

Heading down to the coastal track.

There are lots of interesting trees along the foreshore.

A nice spot for morning tea.

A forbidding looking Mount Wellington.

Kangaroo prints in the beach sand.

Route finding in front of the houses.

The sky was still looking threatening.

 Checking out the local deckchairs.

Looking down the coast towards Umbrella Point.

Some of the group leaving the lunch spot.

Someone's stash of cooking equipment.

Heading along Lowes Road returning to the coastal track back to the ferry.

We had 20 walkers who covered the 10.4kms in 4 hours and the rain was just a sprinkle in the first hour of the walk.
