Today we are approaching Mt Direction from Otago Bay rather than via Rsdon Brook Dam Reserve.
Happy walkers ready to go.
Heading up the hill.
Following the Water Board Pipeline.
The mountain covered in cloud.
A little relative flat spot on the climb
Looking across the river to Cadbury's.
Morning tea vantage point.
It was a bit steep.
The mountain is clearing.
At last on the plateau.
Natures work in forming art with wood and stone.
Looking for the final climb to the summit.
Looking up the river from near the summit.
The Summit Cairn.
The Derwent from the summit towards Bridgewater.
Admiring the view.
A fungi.
Returning across the plateau looking for a way down.
The Mountain in full view.
Discussing who would have built the fireplace.
On the way down.
And it is still quite steep.
Michael relaxing while taking another photo.
On the final track back to the cars.
We had 8 walkers who climbed and descended 430 meters and covered 7 klms in about 3.5 hours and an enjoyable hard walk close to the city centre.
